Growing up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York as a scrawny Chinese boy, Ryan had to think of ways to divert any bullying away from himself. If he was able to make fun of himself first, he would be less of a target. It worked. 

This was the where Ryan realize he had a way of making people laugh. Whether though self-deprecating humor, ridiculing the norm or observational humor, Ryan has managed to make people laugh and have others feel comfortable around him. 

In comedy, Ryan has two goals: One was to obviously make people laugh and the other is to do it in a way that is void of sexual humor (dirty jokes) and profanity. When you come to see Ryan Chan, you can be at ease that yours truly will stick by those virtues.
